All good, I have ordered a plug on Ali Express. Ordered on Monday 22 Nov and if the updates are true it is already in South Africa waiting for delivery to me....unbelievable,all the way from China before my Suzuki dealer can find a tool to sort my bike out. Maybe I'l get it tommorrow? Anyway I'l live with the wrench on the dash until I can sort it out myself....thanks to the info on this group.

I just ordered from Amazon a 6pin to ODB2 converter like the ones previously mentioned in this thread.

Once I get it next week I'll report back if it works with my BT ODB2 converter and Android software. If it doesn't I'll try a friends ODB2 diagnostic tool and see if a simpler one works any better.

I just did this, but dont have owners manual near me. There's a little wrench in the upper left corner, is this normal or do I need to re do it?
The wrench is the service indicator; that's what the reset procedure is for. At the end of it, when done correctly, it should disappear

Service interval reset procedure:
1.
Plug the tool (or insert an appropriate paperclip/metal) into the diag port under the passenger seat
2. Turn on the ignition
3. Code C00 should appear on the bottom of the LCD (if "---" appears instead, you've blown a fuse)
4. Go into Menu > Service > Reset > Yes

I am way to late to this party, and 90$ short... but damn this is by far the best discription and pictures of this issue I have seen, AND TRUST ME EVERYONE, I HAVE BEEN DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE... No one has done it this well. Thanks man this is some pro level shiz. I had the same problem with mine at the service center however since i do all my maintenance other than valves, I just asked them to do it and they were like "uhhh we don't know how..." to which i had to pull up the cable and part number for them and then show them how to do it... They did give me a nice discount though of like 20$ because the cable was like 110$ at the time... and its literally what you made. It's some BMW/Ducati shiz if you ask me.

hi, today I disconnected my OBD adapter cable and checked the assignment of the factory service connector. It should be these two cable colors that enable the service function. I ordered another switch that I will solder on at the end.

Hey! FWIW, I actually accomplished resetting my 2020 1050XT service light! yay! I made a really cool jumper only to find out that the connector in my bike has those really tiny holes... so I used a staple, as someone suggested here, and bingo, and no zapped fuses either. The hardest part was figuring out how to scroll through that d*** menu. All set! or re-set.

Sorry for replying to an old post but this is the thread that I was looking for for info re: OBD2 scanning.

I run an OBD2 dongle in my car and use an Android app called "Torque Pro" to display live data (engine speed, trans temps, DPF temps, electrical system parameters, etc..

Can the data from the 1050's system be looked at live, or is it restricted to displaying and resetting error codes and the like?

I've ordered a Chigee AIO screen with Carplay, dash cams, TPMS and an OBD reader. I was wondering if it can display stuff from the ECU.
