With all the reports of headlight problems, I thought it would be a good idea to gather some information on how big the problem is.
I have a 2012 DL650. I have tried all of the repair hints with no success. What is the relay fix you mention? I cannot find the the connector on the right side of the fairing. I have cleaned the switches on both the handlebars. I pulled the gas tank and checked and cleaned the connectors there. Fuses are good. Bulbs are good. I can put 12 volts at the fuse holder and get lights. What am I doing wrong? With all the reports of headlight problems, I thought it would be a good idea to gather some information on how big the problem is.
I unpluged that plug and it looked good. I sprayed the plug with contact cleaner and applied dielectric grease. No change. Is there a schematic to build the relay? Thanks for your help. The connector is on the left side.
Inside a big rubber boot.
Easternbever do a plug and play relay kit, it takes the load off that plug and the starter button.
You can build your own cheap with parts from online stores if you have the skills, if not just buy the EB kit to stop any future problems.
Use baking soda and super glue and simply polish do not buy the whole unit this will work for many plastic to Plastics for lots of things it's like concrete and can be buffed grinded or polished good luck if you haven't done it yetNah!
The only problem I have is the crack in the right hand lens and with the cost to replace the whole assembly.:yikes:
