I am 6' tall and bought a used Suzuki tall screen off ebay and ordered a Chinese adjustable rail off ebay that allows the tall screen to adjust up and down with a quick turn of a allen wrench as needed.
I have the 24 800 DE and have put on 2400 miles in the last 3-4 weeks and am now happy. I use a adventure full screen helmet and like the results. Off road I can adjust down if I want. Works for me.

I have the National Cycle middle height , It works very good in my opnion. I also have a CalSci that is very big, it might be ok in the winter.

How tall are you and your inseam? The Puig I got was awful with buffeting. Just constant wind in your face/helmet.

5'11", 29" inseam but I tend to slouch some as I ride. I was going to order a Puig. I am a Western Powersports dealer and they had the National Cycle in stock. I'm pretty satisfied with it. I can look over the top, not sure I could have with the tallest one.

Awesome thanks for the info. If you ever get the chance, some pics of it on your bike will be appreciated!

Madstad make adjustable windscreen kits for many motorcycles. They are based in Florida and looking for a donor DL800 to develop a windscreen system. Should be easy given the OEM windscreen attachment. Had one on a Triumph Tiger 1050, not the prettiest screen but by far the most effective after trying several others.

I also have the middle size V Stream and I find it to be very good on my US VStrom 800. I am 5'9", 29" inseam, normal size torso - short legs. I ride with a Shoei RF 1400 and can open the screen and ride in comfort in hot weather. No buffeting at all, limited wind noise.

I've had 4 screens on my 800 thus far; stock, OEM Tall Screen, Givi AF3125, and now a CalSci large. I'm 6'3" so your mileage may vary.

The Suzuki tall screen was barely better than the stock screen. I just got a face full of wind. And since I use a modular helment, the noise is excessing and annoying.

As soon as I could get my hands on a Give AF3125, I snatched one up. I expected great results because I was so pleased with the way the AirFlow I mounted on my '18 650XT. I assumed it would be equally as effective at blocking wind and eliminating buffeting on the 800. Sadly, for me, it did not. The design of the 3125 (which was different than the one for the 650) creates turbulence behind the screen. I tried adjusting the height, the mounting angle, and even bought a new helmet. Nothing did the trick.

Then a week ago I picked up a CalSci large screen. Finally I can ride the highway and hear the engine rather than wind batting my helment around. The only downsize is it's ridiculously huge. It's a touring screen. I will carry the Suzuki tall screen with me if I'm road tripping to a BDR or some other off road destination. I wouldn't want to ride uneven terrain and stand on the pegs with this thing mounted.
I'm the same height and bought the CalSci Large. It blocks too much wind and creates a backdraft but it creates a pocket where you could probably light a match. I have a Puig now and it is perfect for me. I live in Florida so want some wind on me because of the heat. I have no helmet buffeting with it. Took a week long trip to North Georgia to ride some great roads and the bike was awesome.

By the way, if anyone wants a Givi AF3125 for the 800, I'm selling the one I bought. It has less than 100 miles on it and in near perfect condition. I have a box, wrapping, bubble wrap. Shoot me a DM with your location and I'll work on a delivered price.

Thanks. I am going to order the CalSci. If it doesn’t work out, I will be interested in the Givi. 👍🏼

This past weekend, I used a heat gun to form the edges of the CalSci- particularly the bottom "wings" - to a more pronounced rounded shape. I just felt like the screen was a little too flat, making it push a lot of air. I'm also toying with the idea of shaping the top portion to a more rounded profile rather than the squarish shape. Lucky for me, I have a spare screen to test it on before committing to cutting the new one.

That is gawdawful looking, like it came off a 52 Buick. I'll deal with the wind before I bolt a clear barn door to mine.
A little harsh but your opinion is as valid as anyone's. I notice that he lives in Michigan. That windshield is likely worth an extra month of riding each year. Personally, I do at least one long-haul ride every year. Often I include some 12 hour days and sometimes I'll strategize a night session to avoid major cities during high traffic without traveling "the long way 'round". Big windshields greatly reduce fatigue.
I have been using big strata-lounger bikes for some years. (the likely suspects: BMW, GoldWing, ST1300, FJR1300)
_ This year I've bought a Honda street-fighter, CB1000R. I'm modifying it to be a light weight touring bike. I'm months behind schedule but I did just receive my National V-Stream windshield with a vent. It is intended for a Gold Wing 1800. I'm designing a electric height adjustment system. Never, ever thought I would want one. My last two bikes convinced me otherwise. If I don't get it done (enough) by mid-summer, I'll ride my V2.

How different was the airflow/buffeting after the heat gun treatment?
