Peak Design Phone Mount and Vibration Issues

Yesterday I fitted the Peak Design phone holder to the V-Strom's accessory bar (see attached pic).

I put the phone on, started the bike and saw that the wireless charger was working.

I then opened the camera app on the iPhone and noticed that the image showing on the screen was somewhat "fluidic". Engine vibes were giving the camera a hard time. Oh, great.

The unit has a built in vibration dampener which I'm wondering if it's working.

Vibration killed the camera on any earlier iPhone when mounted to a non-dampened Quadlock a few years back.

I would like to hear from anyone on here who has this product and how it's dealing with this. ie. has your phone's camera failed insofar as image stabilisation and focusing goes?

Here's a link to the video:

For some reason the link to the video (on Flickr) isn't working. Just shows a blank black square.

Edit: fixed it. Forum was adding a "media" tag to the link making it unviewable. I've edited it with a straightforward URL to the video.

Does the vibration wreck the iPhone camera even if the camera is not running?

Never had any camera issues in my android phones of many varieties.

I guess I'll find out soon enough.

It was a problem with earlier iPhones (I don't know if Android phones were affected). I had an iPhone 8+, I think it was, where the Quadlock mount killed the camera. But it was undampened. QL responded to it by designing the vibration dampener which I've been using since then. Peak Design's vibration dampener is newer and looks different to the QL one. So hopefully, it'll be OK.

Peak Design got back to me. This is its response to my queries.

Thanks for waiting. According to the Design team, the vibrations should be okay! The mount is designed to isolate the phone from high-frequency vibrations which are not noticeable to the naked eye These low-frequency vibrations are not dangerous to the phone or camera but can be seen.
I'll see what happens to the phone, I guess.
