Hwy 560 goes East/West North of Sudbury and connects Hwys 144 & #11.

? Anyone familiar with it ?

Is it mostly tar & gravel, pavement with some gravel sections?
Is is dull and numbing or scenic?

If you like black spruce and black fly, you will love it.:green_lol: Seriously tho it is paved and makes a nice short cut over to Wawa etc. (667 is not all paved) if you live in the Tritown. If you'r not familiar with the black fly:yikes: please bring some serious bug dope in case you have to stop for more than 30 seconds:fineprint:. Another good reason for ATGATT:yesnod:

hwy 560

I just wanted to add this to old thread as someone may find it in a search.. Hwy 560 between 144 & 11 is one of the best roads you will find north on Sudbury to ride on it is very well suited to the strom and if you get your speed up a little can be very entertaining ... not all roads are made of slab pavement ,,,, to me these are the ones to be avoided ... it also hooks up with the Sulton road on the other side of 144 (all gravel) but can also be much fun to drive and will take you over to 129 where you can find Ranger road (all gravel) that will take you out to hwy17 west heading to Wawa and beyond ...all and all a hell of a good ride .... Enjoy ....

I've been down that one, long ago, in my Fiero.
It was a good shortcut for me as I was able to do 240 all the way.

Every road in Ontario is dull and numbing... nothing but trees and signs indicating some sort of trout lake.
This one had less trees around it though. It was completely empty when I went; I think I passed only one car. Traction was awesome, but it wore the hell out of my tires (I was running Hancook Z200 back then, and they're pretty much equivalent to a motorcycle tire as far as stickyness/softness go)

That's all I have to offer. Oh yeah, bring gas.

yup

Thanks.
I rode it this past June and yes it's still tough on rubber and does goes to trout lakes.
I'll be in Vancouver ( hopefully) in late June / early July. I guess I need to give you lots of advance notice for routing suggestions.
