I'm looking for a heat controller that is dial operated that can max at 10 amps. Anyone see something nice? Waterproof is always nice but I can make whatever so anyways.

Thanks in advance.

ps yes I have searched. ;)

Yeah. Typo on my part. You really want multiple controllers. Using many items does best with more than setting.

Some people are less cold tolerant than others and need more heated clothing.

When you add heated gear you will have to juggle how many watts you use where. You can turn off one headlight, change other lighting to LED's, turn down heated gear at a stop or add electrical capacity.

I run jacket liner, grips, gloves and sometimes socks but not at full power and sometimes needing one headlight off. Depending on the year and model, a Strom will have from 75W to 150W free. All 2008 and later Stroms have 125W-150W available. Anybody approaching those figures would be advised to mount a voltmeter and not run below the 12.6-12.8 break even point for extended periods.

I'm not running quite as much -- I have heated grips, Gerbing jacket, and Denali 10W LED lights that are the major additional draws. Even with everything cranked up, I'm still in the ~13.5V range on the highway. Where you run into problems is if you're in stop and go traffic. With all these running, at a light I'll drop to the 12.1V range. Not a problem for a minute or two (if its a long light I'll bump the rev's for a moment) but in any prolonged stop and go traffic it will become a problem. I'd absolutely agree with GW on adding a voltmeter if you're running anything more than heated grips.

I got in an accident 2 years ago.. bike is running naked, hence less protection and more... heat. As there is nothing but a headlight at front of bike. I figure if required, run my vest, heat grips, socks or boot sole and nee pads in my motorcycle pants that I'm going to get sown in. Appreciate the products. I'm torn between cheap and the reseting function of the first one.
