Hi I'm looking at buying a1050 xt, did demo last week very impressed. Before putting the Fazer up for sale am just seeing if I can move the v35 panniers across. Understand givi says no, but have seen a pic on this forum with those panniers on an xt. Do I just need to buy the non xt side case mount, or just remove the mount? Has anyone any experience of these on the bike, width fitted etc. I'm maxing my budget getting the 1050, so trying to reuse accessories where I can. went in to demo a 2nd hand 1000, they said no have a Go on the 1050 and now I want one!

If Givi sez a PLX3117 rack will fit a std 1050... There should be no reason that it would also fit an XT. Only diff between the two luggage mounting being the plastic rear side covers. The XT having the built in hangar slots for factory plastic cases..... which you arent using. Probably swap those to someone with a std 1050 who wants to use the plastic Suzy cases.....& use their plain side covers if ya wanted.

Thanks for reply s so looks like will have to get the panels if go down that route. This makes the givi very expensive UK ÂŁ240 for the rack ,plus ÂŁ70 for the covers, think I can get 200 back for the v35, so may offer them with the Fazer. Does anyone have any experience of these on the bike i.e. width and clearance to the exhaust. Bike I'm looking at has a scorpion serket on and looks visually higher than standard do not sure if will hit. Going to get a ,3nd ride next week hopefully, can't wait! (Last vstrom was MK2 650 5 years ago)Thanks Richard

I bought a 2020 VStrom 1050 XT and want to install the PLX3117 side racks. Thanks to someone replying that it is possible, I found that the OEM "vanity plate" or the official name is the Rear Frame Cover (Right Hand and Left Hand) are 47511-06L10 47611-06L10, respectively. I haven't bought it yet so please take this with a grain of salt.

I managed to successfully install the PLX3117 side racks but had to remove the stock Rear Cover that holds the OEM cases and attach the V37 side cases; V35 uses the same side racks. I will say that because I removed the Rear Cover, there is an unfinished look to the bike; check out the last 4 photos in this album to see what I mean. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1...lr8H5BipCXc9tU2gBc49QSOKV8eGjNdXVA?key=aTRSdVl6bXVOUzFrSkNXWi1jR3ZGTkxsd3pxMVh3. So, in the end it works but I will probably order and install the Rear Covers I referenced in my previous post.
