Hi all, I'm seriously considering removing the tank decals.
On my new white 650A.
Got rid of the dumb warning stickers, and just want to keep going.
Going to replace the arrow design with a simple black or silver "V-Strom".
What do the members think? Should it be the black or silver?

I know its all a matter of taste...

Do you want your 650 to look like the only white dl1000 in captivity? for what its worth, I reckon leave well alone -

About a week after I bought my white K9 the rh side emblem lifted in the 40+ temps and I peeled it off in one go as it didn't look like it was going to stick down properly again. Figured I may as well do the left side and that peeled straight off as well. IMHO the design of the 09 emblems doesn't suit the white bikes and I prefer mine without them. Too dark to take a shot now but I'll stick a pic up tomorrow if you want to wait before you do it.

I too think the arrow design on the white bike is a bit over the top. I like the plain simple "V-Strom" just under the S on the fairing. Works for the DL1000. The 650 looks pretty much the same from a distance, except for the DL 650 on the back side panels. Only Stromers are going to pick up on it anyhow.

As Astrobob said, I would try the silver decals first.

As for the source try ebay seller "mrstretchedgraphics" in UK.

Factory 650 decals removed.

I decided to bite the bullet . With the help of a heat gun on a low setting. Removed the fairing V-strom decals.
Came off pretty cleanly, with minimal glue residue.

Next step is for the new decals. Which i will leave for another day.

Less is more...

Thanks to everybody for their comments.

I'm actually quite pleased with the results and the new look. :hurray:
Sure beats the OEM decals ( Kmart look...hehe). Which is really in your face on the white bikes.

I admit, it is reminiscent of the DL1000, but they don't usually come in white or with 650 on the side panels.

A nice balance between the original look and having no decal or badge on the fairing. Tidys it up IMO.

I did mine last weekend, held a warm wet cloth over an end section of the decal for a few seconds then it just peeded right off, I just had to hold the cloth against the decal as I peeled to keep it warm. I had to use a bit of goo remover afterwards but the whole job took about 10 minutes. I could post a photo but it would look exactly like Bruso's bike anyway.

Hello to everyone - I just took the black "V-Strom" decals off the sides of the tank and think it looks very beautiful without them - the red tank balances out all the black on the rest of the bike. I'm a vocal advocate of the Strom - don't need to advertise it on the tank in black script !

Think i have seen them at the last rally. Have to say they don't look too bad. Much better than the arrowhead 2009-10.

In deed drawing a rather long bow regarding "is this a Harley?" hahaha, an no oil leaks?. Surely you mean is this a Beemer? Wees have often been compared to the Beemers.
