Hello everyone, just bought a very nice 2003 DL1000 and new to this forum

I would like to know where the connector for the dealer mode is located.

I found next to the battery a tiny white six pole connector wit a cap on it.
Is this it?

I so, after removing the cap all pins are interconnected with a kind of bridge.

Should I remove this before connecting the two wires

Any help is appreciated.

'03 and earlier DL1000's have four connections in the dealer mode connector. All 1000s put the connector under the left side painted cover near the ECU. Look for White/Red & Black/White wires that need to be jumpered.

Thanx

Hi Greywolf, thanks for the quick reply but I can't find the connector you mentioned. Only the small 6 pole that I mentioned before and a three pole connector that's connected. (With red black and green wires connected to it)
Also in the service manual I see the picture of a three pole connector with the dealer mode switch.
Could this be it?
Should it be disconnected before bridging the wires?

The connector you have found is a ground block. It has a plastic cap, a little metal bridge jumping all the pins together, and all the wires coming into are black/grey (IIRC). Removing the bridge thingy will just un-ground whatever is run to that block.

The connector you are looking for has a rubber cap and different colored wires coming into it.

They are in the same general area (left side back cover). Keep digging around in there and you should find it.

Found it !!!

Thank you all, I found it. It was way back behind the fairing, far behind the battery compartment, almost on top of the rear wheel. Guess they sometimes are a little generous with wire when making the harnesses.
:hurray:

Anyway, TPS OK and no fault codes

My Thanks to "grEywolf' for posting the link back in '06, to the VSRI group, which has excellent photos of the dealer mode connector. I was looking at the 6 pin connector with the plastic cover, which I now read to be a
grounding block. gotta go back on the hunt when i get home... Found it. Just as an extra note, the word "UP" is
unmistakeably, not sure if I spelled that correctly, molded into the rubber cover. All this to find out that my TPS is
properly set.
