Brown'ish/Red'ish Stuff Behind Oil Filter

Changing my oil today I ran across some gunk behind the part that receives the Oil Filter. The stuff is tough but brittle and some flaked off on to my finger. Not sure if this is an old factory sealant or something I should be worried about? I recently had a top end rebuild done by the dealership but no idea if that is related.

Any ideas?

You are correct that was a rather loud *sigh*.

Turn Signal Fluid is Blue or Green depending on the year. :mrgreen:
