Probably the number one convenience farkle on my bike is the Audiovox cruise control. For around $100, it's a real throttle adjusting, speed maintaining, clutch or brake deactivated cruise control. A somewhat complex installation is the only negative.

 

lol " Somewhat " I like that. IF it was somewhat complex for you to install, it would be fricken impossible for somebody like me...

 

It wasn't complex for me. It's just involves more than throttle locks do. All it takes is to follow instructions, make wiring connections with solder or http://www.posi-lock.com/ connectors, cut and drill a piece of aluminum angle and do about the same amount of disassembly it takes to change the air filter. http://www.rvbprecision.com/articles/24/motorcycle_electronic_cruise_control is a great resource.

 

I have the Kaoko cruise and at $110 it works great and you can't really even tell it is there. Looks like it came on the bike from the factory. They have gone up over the months. Got mine for under $100 some months back!

I have the Breakaway on a wee and it's a good unit. but I would never pay the money to buy one. way too much. (I got it free)

It will soon come off and be replaced by the audiovox unit.

I spent $23.00 for the Vista Cruise throttle control for my Wee. It was easy to install, aside from having to remove the flange at the inboard end of the throttle sleeve and sand those low ridges off. It's simple and easy to use. The other units are good, I'm sure, but I just didn't care to spend the money on any of them.

 

I've been using the Brakeaway for a couple years on my '99 Shadow. Got it as a Christmas present - Santa's my pal! No complaints whatsoever. Works as advertised. No rust, no plastic. It's a keeper.
