Talking New Utah Strommer (SLC) -- Farkle fest anyone??

Hey everyone,

I pick up my Fox Orange beauty just a week or two ago. I've been doing a few break in rides (Emigration/East canyon, BCC, Bountiful Skyline) interspersed with ordering a bunch of new goodies. I'm totally psyched about this bike! It's soooo smoooooth!

Anyways, I thought I'd introduce myself and if anyone is up for a ride or would simply like to grab a coldie, send me a line.

Also, if anyone is into strom wrenching, I'd love to learn whatever I can. My 600 mile service is coming up and like I said, I'll be bolting on a bunch of new goodies. I'll buy.

Finally, does anyone know a good/cheap place to mount/balance new tires?

Thanks all,
Neal

Welcome

Looking at your farkle list - you're not all too new to this

I bring tires and rims to Plaza Cycle on 33rd S, They charged me about $50 last time. As for your 600 mile - follow your Owners manual, there's a list of to-do's, I did our's for the wife's new '12. When tightening the bolts and screws that hold the plastic on, don't over torque, plastic will crack !!

Murph's center stand - is it for the 2012 model specific??
Strom wrenching - contact Cavehamster, he does his own valves, external fuel filter, but never washes his shield.

Thanks, the Murph's is for the previous model. I'll have to improvise a rubber stopper.

Vstroma was out (what I really wanted) till fall, the sw motec lowers ground clearance significantly & the Suzuki is... well... $328!!

I'm interested in your solution, I have a spare center stand at home that I would like to mount, right now the only solution I see is a bracket mounted on the left side.

I just installed it [Murph's center stand] on mine. It does not contact any parts of the bike when fully retracted. It merely bumps into itself at the limits of the pivot joint. It does not clank. The worst that may happen is that the powder coat will wear off , on 2 (each 1/8" square) little nubs, allowing for a little rust. I'll probably look for a little bumper, but there is really little need. It flops the bike up w/nearly no effort and seems fairly stable. The foot lever for the center stand & stock side stand are very close and it takes a little attention to make sure you foot is one the right one. it lowers the left hand cornering clearance by about .75" (longer peg feeler provided).

Mine was in fine shape and I've bought much more higher end accessories that were 2012 specific that did not fit very well. Given the price point, I must say, "RECOMMENDED!"

Wondering if you can use a rubber hose clamp or something similar to hold a stop in place,.....Piece of a garden hose?? Know what I'm getting at. I'll have to mount mine when I have time.
