Attention: Sacramento Area VStrom Owners

Clearwater Lights (see: http://www.clearwaterlights.com/index.html) needs access to a few V-Stroms in the Sacramento area so that they can finalize a fork-mounted LED conspicuity Glenda light kit for the VStrom. The participating owner would get a substantial discount for the product plus a free install.

These appear to be great light kits (browse through their website). They are 2x12 watt LED clusters, with a dimmer for nite use, or a nifty option where you can link them into your high-low beam switch. They've got a choice of colored bezels that will match many Strom bikes (alas, not my Daytona yellow).

Interested owners should contact Glenn Stasky at [email protected] or by calling him at 916-852-7029. Clearwater is located at 2546 Mercantile Drive, Unit B, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742.

I hope someone picks up this offer. I would but I'm too far away. But the sooner you do it, the sooner I can order my kit.

Clearwater

I went by the shop and they quoted the retail price of $475, but needs a vstrom to do the mock up on with a price of 250-300. I had to go before there was a firm price. I need tio wait a couple of weeks so if someone else wants it, give them a call.

Clearwater Lights

I have lent my DL 1000 to Glenn (owner of Clearwater Lights) for a couple of weeks. They will be finalizing brackets for both the smaller "Glenda" leds which will mount on the fender/reflector screw holes and a larger bracket that will attach under the headlight fairing which can hold their larger lights "Krista"). I will be having both the Glenda and Krista's mounted. Once complete, I will provide pics and my personal evaluation of the lights. I am anxious to see how they compare to the Soltek Fuegos on my FJR.

That's great news, mbrinitzer. Looking forward to your review. I had just about given up and was going to go with Twisted Throttle's LED product, which is less expensive, but the Glendas look more interesting especially given their dimmability, and the possibility of wiring them so that dimming is controlled by your hi beam switch. I hope you are going to have them wired this way.

Cheers,

Clearwater Lights

Being able to dim the lights is a huge advantage in my opinion. Both Glenda and Krista lights to be wired to the hi/lo beam switch so I can have all lights running on hi or low together. An additional switch they are putting on will allow me to turn the Kristas off and operate just the headlights and Glendas with the hi/lo beam switch. Additionally, the dimmer switch will be mounted on the handle bar to allow me to dim the Glendas or the Glenda/Krista combination as I see fit. Will keep you posted.

Clearwater Glenda Auxiliary LED Lites

For anyone that is interested, note that I've now posted some installation notes and pics of the Glenda lites that I've installed on my Wee. Great lites - love 'em.

The thread is in the Maintenance Tech and Farkles forum:
