Redwoods to Sacramento?Tahoe-need advice

Hi Everyone,

Going down the Oregon coast soon to the Redwoods. Then thinking of heading over to Tahoe. Does anyone have any suggestions for the route to take from the Redwoods to Sacramento where we can stay off Highway 80?

And then a good route from Sacramento to Tahoe you like?

Thanks so much!!

Do you need to go to Sacramento? If not, take hwy 299 out of McKinleyville (got to be on somebody's top 10 list). It ends up in Redding. Head East on hwy 44 to Susanville, and it ends up at Reno /Sparks. At that point you can either keep going down to Carlson City or a number of different ways to Tahoe.

Is this a repeat of the original question about a route to Sacramento?
