Bikes and hot air balloons anyone?

Greetings Stromtroopers.

Albuquerque's International Baloon Fiesta is coming next weekend and I wondered if anyone planned on going. The crowd and traffic can be a hassle, but as the balloons launch they are fun to watch from the surrounding areas. The mass of balloons launch around 7am each day starting on 10/7 and I'm planning to find a spot to watch them fly, then going for a ride.

Launch site is here. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.2007...=en&authuser=0

Possible vantage points are city parks like this one. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.1542...=en&authuser=0

Or maybe someplace near Corrales along the Rio Grande.

Anyone interested?

Roger

I have family in Farmington, and head out there frequently. I wonder if your cousin knows my cousins.

We were on a crew for a few years. Fiesta, rallys, random flights were all excuses to party, lol. Oh, flying was very fun usually, except when the balloon rubbed a cliff wall and tore open. Hot air went out and we went down quickly!

Sure hope others get to see this event sometime, if not now. It really is amazing to see hundreds of hot air balloons over head.

...Could be ! he is a Diesel Mechanic....have not talked to him in a while and don't know what or if he still rides. My aunt on my dad's side lives the too. We have a balloon festival of sorts here in the Clovis / Fresno area, but it is no way near the size of the one there !
