San Diego to Palomar MTN Day ride

Looking to see if anybody wants to join for a ride from san diego city up to Palomar Mtn on Saturday Feb 22 2014. Will be going up the back way through combination of street and fire roads. Going to try to stay on more dirt than street, but it should be fun either way. Meeting place is still open since right now its just me.

I've got an airsoft game in Pendelton to go to that morning or I would be in. Ya'll have fun. Check out San Diego Adventure Riders. They are a great group of folks and you'll probably have better luck finding folks on that site.

I was working this weekend, but I'd be interested too. Although I just put a Michelin PR4 on the rear, not the best tire for dirt work. How were the off road sections?

I did go on the ride had alot of fun did 250miles. I went east on the 94 and went up lyon's valley rd in jumal jumped off the pavement on boulder creek rd in descanso. Pick up the 78 headed west and jumped back off the smooth and got on sutherlanddam/black canyon rd. That dropped me off on Mesa grande rd, got on the 76 west and jumped off and climbed Pamolar Mtn via Nate Harrison Rd/S-7. Went back on the 76, hit the 79 south, hit sunrise hwy. That is where the trip got sour. I did my research on the road conditions, I thought anyways. The plan was to go off the east side of mt laguna via kitchen creek rd , started hitting lock gates. At that time I was low on fuel and it was getting late. Had to just hit the 8 and park the stead in the garage. All and All it was a good ride, next time will try to do more dirt than this ride. I don't know if I am open this weekend, got to check with the warden and see what the plans are.

Count me in! I too will have to talk to my old lady but it's more so letting her know just to be upfront and honest this will be my first "group" ride. Emphasize group if it ends up only being two or three total people but still more then just riding by my lonesome!

I would love to hit more dirt! I have been out on the 94 w and have ridden the sunrise Highway and both are great! Looking forward to learning some dirt roads around that area.

You can check out San Diego County, California - Dirtopia, the Off-Road Encyclopedia

That right there is one amazing website! So how about we meet up after your breakfast thing at the movie theater where the 94 meets Jamacha? Or I could just meet you somewhere in Jamul if its easier and we can get to wherever we are wanting to ride easily from there. I will PM you with my Cell so you can Text me so we have each others number for ease of communication.
