Radiator fan switch, 17680-33E00

Some trouble-shooting this weekend left me looking for a fan switch.

Per RonAyers, the part number is 17680-33E00

I had been hoping to find an equivalent auto part number so I could pick something up that day, but it doesn't seem like the people working in parts shops these days know anything.

Some internet scouring led me to the following:

switches, fan, neutral, water temperature for motorcycle

which indicates that:

"SUZUKI CW21-7350KL $44 REPLACES SUZUKI 17680-33E00 FOR: GSXR600 97-05; GSXR750 96-08; VL/VZ800 01-08; DL1000 V-STORM 02-08; GSXR1000 01-04; SV1000 03-07; TL1000R/S 98-03; GSXR1300 99-07"

Given the vast number of bikes this thing is used in, I was sure I could find something.

A little more digging turned up posts on tlplanet and tlzone:

Wells: sw1888 on @ 199
SW1636 on @ 203
SUZUKI: 17680 50 F10 on @ 205
Echlin: fs154 on @ 208

and

ECHLIN : FS154
AC DELCO : A1854
STANDARD : TS306
4 SEASONS : 36567
WELLS : SW1888
Tridon: TFS225

A search on Tridon yields:

TFS225 Fan switch

Thread - M18 x 1.5
Circuit - Normally Open
Temp Range: 95ºC to 90ºC
Spanner - 24mm

Now, if your parts store can figure out what thread pitch is, you can get this replaced pretty easy.

I'll just have to order mine online somewhere.

Try a part number search on Rockauto.com...

Turns out A1854 is used on the following, made by Suzuki:
GEO METRO (1993 - 1994)
GEO METRO GSI 1992
GEO METRO LSI (1992 - 1993)

A search on the Suzuki part number (17680 50 F10) finds...
ORIGINAL ENGINE MANAGEMENT Part # 8537 {#1768050F10, 96065719}
$21.79

AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 1S1538 {#1768050F10, 96065719, SW1636}
$26.79

STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # TS306 {#1768050F00, 1768050F10, 96065719, A1854}
$28.79

Same applications as above...

Still a relatively uncommon part, but someone might have one on a shelf somewhere..

Installed the Standard part: TS306

Picked up from Rock Auto, shipped for $29

fits, correct thread, right electrical plug. Easy in and go.

It does turn on the fan a touch before 3 bars, but since I'm in NYC, and ride a lot of miles on long summer days, I'll be fine with it, I think

Still happy with the TS306 and would recommend to a fellow Trooper?
