Quick Question (Fuel Tank Related)

Ok. So after putting it off as long as possible, I finally pulled the fairings & the fuel tank to change the air filter & plugs on my V. Everything went smooth & I actually got it back together without breaking anything. However, after tightening everything up I noticed one of the rubber "blocks" that (i guess) acts as a "buffer" between the tank & frame laying on top of the engine. Do any of you more experienced wrenchers know if it's necessary to pull the tank back off & glue the thing back on or is it fine without it? The tank is tight, the block on the other side is still in place, & I don't see how the tank could ever come in contact with the frame even with this thing missing. Thanks in advance.
