Finally had to adjust my valves.

Well, after only 209,000km I finally had to adjust some valves for the first time. All 4 exhausts required going down one size of shim.

I guess its time to trade'r off.

Cheers!

What are you doing that I'm not? Just checked mine for the first time at 25,000kms and 5 out of 8 need adjustment.2 intake at .08mm,2 at .10mm and 1exaust at.20mm.
Going to tackle the adjustment Saturday.
I hope I can get 200,000kms out of mine.
I think you should keep yours and see how far she goes before she blows!!

Really hard to say why mine went so long, perhaps the use of synthetic oil since new?

BTW, I am a former BlueNoser and have ridden back "home" the last 6 summers in a row, including going over to the Rock 3 times.

Cheers

rcacs,
This is my suggestion to you. The bike is worthless with that many miles on it, right? No dealer is going to give anything worthwhile for it as a trade in. So, why don't you give it to me? What "value" you will get out of it, will be watching what I do to it next winter; a little cutting....a little welding.....a little grinding...... and I will get that bike to be as "priceless" as mine. One of a kind.

Whaddayasay?

Deal?
