Sticky rear brake lever

Recently my rear brake lever has been sticking pretty badly. When I apply the brake, the lever doesn't spring back. I have to push it up with my foot. I tried spraying a bit of lube at the pivot point to see if it would loosen up. Still sticky.

Any help with how to fix this would be appreciated. Any pics of how to would also be great.

thanks guys

Take the cotter pin out of the pin at the back of the lever and remove the pin. Use a circlip pliers to remove circlip #12 to take the lever off. Grease the lever pivot and re-assemble.

I like a marine grease. Bel-Ray is a good brand.

I must second greywolf's suggestion. Bel-Ray salt-water proof grease is very good stuff. I've been using it for well over 20 years with no issues.
