chain alignment

Hi, new to the forum and to the world of V Stroms. What I have learned from thr forum has been great. Now is the time to ask a question.
I understand that the alignment(chain) between the the front and rear sprockets is off by about 2mm. I have read where MasterMike has a product that will set everthing right. I have just last week bought a used(4k miles) 2004 Dl1000. Everything looks right, although I have not had a chance to fine tune my inspection. How will I know if I need MasterMike's invention? What does it look like? is there a thread that shows the install of this device?
Last question(today)why hasn't Suzuki addressed this error/problem?

Thanks

There may be more magic than science involved. See https://www.stromtrooper.com/v-strom-...er-thread.html

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at https://www.stromtrooper.com/informat...-you-have.html
