50,000 klm Service

My 08 Wee is fast approaching 50k, I would assume a big service milestone, so I thought I'd get the opinion of the collective, what should I be looking at?

Obviously the usual service things, filters and oil, but what about fork oil, swingarm bearings, wheelbearings and stuff like that? Do I replace no matter?, or repack if they're good? Or do I just give it a miss and check it all at 100K. Also this mysterious throttle sync (my first multi-cylinder bike), I'm getting over 450kms to the tank, does that indicate my sync is ok?

She runs as sweet as a nut, no problems at all and being a comparatively low-tech bike I'm thinking that some of these things could be left until a later date.

What say you??

At, 50,000 miles, I replaced my wheel bearings with bearings sealed on both sides and my steering head bearings with tapered rollers instead of balls.

If spinning a wheel and feeling the axle does not result in a rumble and no notchiness is felt with the front wheel raised and turning the handlebars, it really isn't necessary. I was really thinking about the next 50,000 miles. The swingarm and rear suspension linkage do not go through much of a range of motion and have caged needle bearings so should last a long time. I cleaned mine and ran the inside bushing around with a finger inside each to feel for roughness. They felt fine so I just re-greased them. It would take ordering fairly expensive parts from Suzuki to replace them rather than rather inexpensive industrial standard bearings for the other areas and that seemed way into overkill. 85,000-100,000km is probably a more appropriate time to do anything more than check the bearings if things are going well. I might do the tapered roller steering head bearing change in your situation though.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

I think you went past it at 48k

my recomendation is do the valve lash inspection, TPS and TBS whether you think it needs it or not
