trimming the grip puppies

The grip puppies have arrived and I noticed that the length will need some trimming. I would like it to be a neat installation. How did you trim (cut) yours?

Mark where they need to be cut with a piece of tape, mash flat, use a razor blade.

Leave them the original length and Then roll the very end underneath itself for a nice looking elevated lip at the end of each grip.

I used a paper cutter. Push it flat and bring down the blade.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Just squish 'em on there. They'll get a bit shorter anyway as you stretch them onto the grips, and they'll easily compress to fit longitudinally.

grip puppies

I also found the grip puppies too long, I measured to the length I wanted them, cut them w/ the above mentioned handy-cut, then hit the cut edges with 800 grit sandpaper till I had a smooth edge.
