Pinging New Rear Sprocket?

just did oil change, front and rear sprocket change, chain change, rear brake pads... did a quick ride around the block a few times and when I got back I hear a loud ping from rear sprocket area while bike is off. (like a hot ping) would a new sprocket do that????? brakes seem ok, bike rode alright, leaving on a trip in 2 days.... help!!!!!!!

When my bike makes that sound, it is the rear pads cooling off; particularly when they are new.
