chain lube, help please

after gleaning the posts, it seems that the dupont multi plus teflon is the preferred lube for stromists. i picked up a can at lowe's last time i was in the states. however the FAA took it out of my checked baggage. maybe because it was an aerosal, or they needed for their bike?

i am returning to the states next week. and would like to bring back some chain lube. is there something comparable to this product that is not in an aerosal can?

thank you for your help. good chain lube is difficult to find here.

Hey, thanks for the post, that will take a lot less topcase space.

Loobman

I installed a Loobman on my '07 Vee and have been very pleased. At any moment (after crossing a stream, riding through the sand, whatever) I can reach down, squeeze, and know every millimeter, nook and cranny of my chain has a fresh coat of 10W-40. My rear wheel is a bit more grimy than most but such is life. Stroms are for riding, not bling.

Now there is a plain nice catch. Thanks for the heads up.

I've been using a 'refillable' PJ spray lube set up for years, and it may just have to go away!

Edit: Ordered 3x 2oz bottles for 'testers'. Thanks again

Off-topic, but  a guy I know had a can of WD-40 inside a box he was shipping to Africa. He was all set to board when he was hustled away by the FAA guys. Turned into quite a drama as I understand it.

He's actually quite an interesting guy - LionsGate is doing a movie about him, Gerrard Butler is playing him, and Bridget Moynihan his wife.

And I can say "I knew him when.."

I've got a herd of bicycles, and use White Lightning "dry" chain lube/wax...Same deal applies - teflon particles, wonder chemicals, etc..blah blah blah.....Out of convenience, I've been using it on my Wee. Most bicycle lubes come in those little squeeze bottles, but you can buy the White Lightning in big 32 oz. jugs [about $35-50 online] which is quite a savings over buying tiny individual bottles [about half price]. Easy to apply, I just put the bike on the centerstand, start the bike, place in gear, and use a bit of clutch to get the rear wheel rotating slowly - with my right hand apply the lube to the pins - very easy and quick!

When you get back home, just go to the nearest cycling shop and get a big jug of the stuff - the DuPont stuff is pretty much the same thing as White Lightning.

And to everyone else, glad I could help. I didn't know the stuff was out there myself until I checked. I vageuely remember seeing it carried by Lowes or somebody a while back, but I haven't been able to find it the last two times I've been there.
