Brake questions 650

How many miles should I expect from front and rear brakes.

I have done disc brakes in the past on cars. Is the process much different for the bike? Doesn't seem like it but it will be the first time I have done it.

Finally, any thoughts on which pads to buy? I was going to get OEM again but if there is any noticable improvement with an aftermarket at similar or lower prices I would probably do it.

Thanks for the help here. The last time I posted looking for help with balky headlights the advice was great.

Service life depends on how you ride, how often you use the brakes, etc. 20k miles is a conservative estimate.

Brakes are simple. The front takes less than an hour to do both and bleed the system, and the rear about 30 minutes.

I'd never go back with the OEM pads. I personally prefer EBC but there are others just as good.
