Mounting foot pegs on Givi engine guard. Help!

I just received some highway pegs in the mail and tried to mount them on my givi bars. The pegs seem too heavy and even after tightening them down they rotate and will not stay in one place.

I am thinking of drilling a hole in the bars and mounting them that way.

Any one have any luck mounting these type of pegs?

The Givi bars are 7/8". If your pegs are for 1" you would need to build up the bar width to get a tight fit - still may need a screw however .
