Oil Leak

Cleaning the 12 Vee today and noticed on the left side around the clutch assembly area it is leaking oil.

Any one have an idea why and what I need to do to fix?

Are you sure it isn't brake(Hydraulic) fluid. The lower cylinder (Behind the sprocket cover) is a common problem.

No I am not. I just cleaned it up today and have not had time to tear it apart as I have another bike that has been getting all of my attention.

The most likely suspects down there are either the clutch slave cylinder (as nvr2old says) or the countershaft oil seal.

The fixes are to rebuild or replace the slave cylinder, replace the push rod oil seal, or to remove the countershaft sprocket and replace that oil seal.

Thanks for the links. As soon as I get new fork seals in the Goldwing I will tear apart the Vee. Fun times
