Wink yet another clutch question

I am working on my friends o4 dl 1000, the problem is a harsh grinding/shudderring on hard acceleration feels like its coming from the clutch side of the motor. It also feels like it falls on its face"give it gas it stumbles hard, then picks up". The dealer has checked it out twice and gives it a clean bill of health??? i think not. all the regular tune up stuff has been done. I have removed the clutch assy . the basket and hub look fine, drive and driven plates look fine as well. The transmission input shaft will turn a full 50-60 degrees before engaging the final drive? is that typical of this model? also the main bearing is missing two bearings from its cage? there is no path of destruction such as when a bearing finds its own way out?any info and a picture of this bearing would be very helpful.. thanks in advance, this is a nice site... ps,,, i have ridden my dl650 two up for over 20k miles and its hands down the best bike i have EVER purchased!!!!.. thanks all.
