Clutch adj question DL650

After removing the sprocket cover per manuals instructions...the next paragraph
says "loosen the lock-nut (3) and turn out adj screw (4) 2-3 rotations.
Then in the very next sentence it calls the the adj screw (3)

Makes doing the operation pretty confusing...even tho it should be simple operation.
Do I need more coffee or am I reading it wrong?
What Goes??

Just a typo. No additional coffee required.

Should read:

Loosen the lock-nut 3 and turn out the adjusting screw 4 two or three rotations.

From that position, slowly turn the adjuster screw 4 in until it stops.

Turn the adjuster screw 4 out 1/4 rotation, and tighten the lock-nut 3.

2006 DL650

"We've done four already, but now we're steady and then they went one, two, three, four..."

Typos for sure. In the picture, the adjuster screw is 4 and the lock nut is 3.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Thumbs up

Thanks guys for the clarification...I knew from prev exp that the center screw
had to be the adj and outer the lock but wanted to make sure before going to the
garage.

Seems Im killing the bike and having to slip clutch to get going other wise im killing it.

Hope this is the fix
