SWMotech side rack replacement parts?

The racks were attached by the PO. I noticed that mounting the right case was tough, and required warping it. I downloaded the instructions for installation, and I see it was installed minus a few spacers and at least one bolt of the proper length.

Any recommendations on where to order factory replacement nuts and bolts?

I'd like to order a complete set of nuts/bolts/washers/spacers, to make sure everything is as it should be. But if I can get only the unique bits (mainly spacers) that will be fine too - the instructions do a good job of specifying each fastener.

I do believe Twisted Throttle would be able to help you out. I don't think they are the importer, another California company (Eurotech Motorsports) imports a lot of the German MC accessory stuff as a wholesaler, but check with both comanies. Check with TT, they may be able to set you up with a hardware kit as a special order. Check with California Sport Touring, too. Good shop, sells lots of aftermarket mfr's. http://www.casporttouring.com/

I e-mailed TT on July 2, and got a quick reply. They asked for a list of exactly the bits I need. They now have the list, and I'm waiting to see what they will do.

My guess is the PO bought the rack secondhand, and none of the nuts/bolts/spacers got passed on. I would not have noticed, except that one of the Pelican cases and the side rack had to be bowed about an inch to mount. I figured something was wrong, so I started checking into how it should be installed. I don't think the case would last long in service warped like that.

I like it that the Motech installation instructions are on the web and give a thorough parts list. You can replace a lot of it with off the shelf metric stuff, but the spacers are custom, and at least one bolt is not at my local hardware stores.

I got a reply from TT. New fastener set: special order from Germany, 6 weeks, $95.

It would be nice to have it "right", but for $95 I'll pull together what I need from local hardware stores.

I purchased a second hand set of SW-Motech racks for my Vee. Most of the hardware was there, but I bought some different bushings from the hardware store that worked better than those supplied.
