Speed Sensor Rotor Bolt

After pulling the cover off to get to the front sprocket I couldn't get the speed sensor bolt off. I was a little hesitant to really go at it for fear of stripping it out. Any trick to getting that sucker off? A second question is what's the best thing to use for cleaning the gunk out of the front sprocket area?

you can go for it, lean into it. It is on there big time for good reason though, so torque er up again.
When I swapped out my front sprocket, I used kerosene to clean the "area" up, as I used this on the chain in the past service anyway.
