chain adjustment again?

I had lots of play in my chain when I did the 600 mile service. At 1100 it seems to have too much again. I'm cleaning with kero and using the dupont lube that seems to be the recommended practice. Am I doing something wrong?

Chain wear is greater at the beginning when it wears in and at the end when it wears out. In mid life, not much adjusting is required.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

I agree with Greywolf, your chain adjusting history duplicated mine exactly. I have not touched it after 1,500 miles, just clean and lube. My mileage now is around 6,000.
