help dl1000 gauge cluster problem and running weird

ok so over the past couple month i have had 2 issues on my favorite bike...
1st gauge cluster with die except neutral light.. rearbrake light switch works and both front and rear turn signals stay on no blinking just on.. but starts and runs... then when i turn the key off the guage cluster zeros out like when you turn the key on???? this problem has been intemitent and never lasted more than 30 mins now it has been 2 days and now the engine is starting to cut out here and there while i ride... oh and no headlights but horn works???? please help big ride coming up...

I would check the grounds, but that is merely a guess.
