Hard to start DL1000K7

After I've left my bike out in the sun for a few hours it won't start. I hit the starter and it turns over but won't go until I give it WOT for a moment and then it will start. I have to feather the throttle for a bit to keep it from dying but after that it works fine.

I tried opening the fuel tank to see if it's a vacuum issue and that didn't help, so any other suggestions? It's kind of a pain and I doubt the engine really appreciates being wound out right after firing up.

Fuel evaporates and saturates the air in the throttle bodies in high temperatures. Opening the throttle to let in more air and defeat the cold start circuit is the way to deal with the situation. You're doing the right thing but could start the process earlier. Cranking without starting puts even more fuel into the system.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
