Reuseable oil filters

Greetings from W Canada
I have a new 05K sitting in my garage. Even though the weather is warm enough to bike, the roads are wet and slippery.
I have used modular or reusable oil filters on Rods in the past. Is this a good when to go with my new V-Strom?
Thanks Bryan

I have been using Scotts filters on my dirt bikes for years. I just got one for my V, and I have to say this is a very well made filter. Excellent craftsmanship. Not only are they much better filters, they flow better, and it looks great on the V.

Take this as you will, it is not my opinion and I just recently found it and am yet to read it all but it sounds interesting:

Thanks for the link Heavy. Very informative reading. I think I may be putting the Amsoil filter on mine next month when I give it an oil change. I riding buddy of mine has a brother in law that is an engineer and swears by it in his bikes.

Glad you enjoyed the read. I've never used the Amsoil filter, though I do normally use their oil. I'm one of the guys that sticks to the OEM filter for at least the first couple of years.
