Kickstand question

Have a 2006 wee. The PO lowered it and cut the leg, then welded the foot back on. I raised the bike back but now the kickstand is way too short!
Question...I found an adjustable kickstand on Amazon for an SV650. Would that fit on a 2006 DL650? If not, what makes one kickstand different than another? Is it length? Fitting part on the bike? Both???

Would it not be easier to buy the right thing?

Or get an engineering shop to cut the existing one and add an inch or two? Do you know anyone who can weld? Or even just visit your local motorcycle wrecker.

Alternatively swop with someone with a lowered Wee looking for a shortened kickstand. Maybe best to get the OEM part and sell the short one, to help with the extra cost.

Hate using eBay but if that's the best avenue...

Yet I also like the "adjustable" kickstands! The only one I found comes with adjustable links, which I don't need, for a package set and $239!!!

I guess I'll go with an eBay one.

There has been quite a bit of discussion about short stands. Some of the older Wee's seem to have bent the mount somehow and lean like crazy.
I have an extra inch of extruded tubing on the bottom of mine and it still could use some more length.
It's a bugger to get off the side stand when loaded for camping/touring.
I carry a chunk of 2X4 in the tank bag on a lanyard to put under the stand on sloped parking surfaces.
That ebAYstand looks like a good deal for the price!

My 05 leans A LOT on the sidestand. Does not appear to be shortened, but the welds don't look as pretty as I would expect from the factory.

There was a lot of slop at the top portion as if the it had widened at the pivot point after years of use. Even after removing it and clamping it tighter in a vise there wasn't much improvement.

I'll probably just weld a wider/thicker plate on the bottom. $1 of scrap metal is a lot cheaper than a new stand or aftermarket foot add on.

I purchased an adjustable kickstand for my vstrom 1000 when I lowered it. Wasn't impressed with the adjustable kickstand, and removed it. It was made out of soft metal, and the foot was very small. Opted to have the o.e.m. kickstand shortened by a local welder and all is good. I would purchase an o.e.m. new or used and be done with it. Just my 2 cents.
