Front Axle Bolt

What's the size of the hex key I need for the front axle bolt?
Thanks in advance.

12mm. The only way to know that from your sig is the ABS since the 1000 doesn't have it. 1000s use a 19mm hex.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Front Axle Bolt

You guys are great. Thanks. Any chance you know the size of the hex bolt (there are 2) on the top of the fairing directly in front of the handle bars. I need to remove these to lift the tank and one of them has been overtorqued...not sure how I'm going to get it loose.

4mm. If it rounds off, a pointed punch dug in near the outside edge and driven at an angle will get it loose. It can also have a slot cut across the top for a flat bladed screwdriver. 09139-06122 is the part number for a replacement.

Useful Hex Bits?

To follow up, I've got the 650 DL (w/o ABS), what hex bits are useful? Looks like I need a 12mm for the front axle a 6mm for so I can mount my GIVI engine guards, any others that need torquing? I have regular allen wrenches so just need to know what I need for socket drivers. And what's the recommendation for the front axle, 3/8" or 1/2" drive?

(I'd just buy a whole hex set, but I'm restricted on room, have a mountain of tools that don't get used so I'm now into buying just those that I know I'll use.)
