Need to replace chain (DL650) : question about links.

Never replaced a chain before. Found a few places that sell DID525 style chains, but I've got a few questions:

The manual says the OEM chain is 116 links, but these seem to be nonexistent as aftermarket parts. Lots of 120's, no 116's. Would a 120 make much difference?

There's a gabillion different variants on the 525. VMX, V2, ZVM, etc, etc. I'm not looking for ultra performance here. Just a sturdy, reliable chain. Any recommendations here?

I've heard wind of some kind of DID master link clamping doojigger needed for putting the chains together. Where should I be looking for one of these?

Chains are sold in standard lengths like 120 links and will need to be shortened, and yes 4 links will make a signifcant difference. But I was able to buy a DID x-ring in the correct length from my local dealer which matched the best price I found on the web. And the best way to mount the chain is to have the master link riveted. To do this correctly and also to shorten the chain the appropriate tool makes the task much easier. The low end price tools ~$30 are rarely good for more than a single use btw.
