My bike's taking a leak!!!

Okay, I'm upset. Came back from a ride yesterday and noticed a drop of oil. Got under the bike and it was completely wet with dino juice.
Can't really tell without cleaning it up to see exactly where it's coming from, but it looks like it may be from the shifter (no, it's not coming from the timing cover on the side). Question: Has anyone else experienced this? Am I "on track" as far as location?

It could be the countershaft seal.

Second that, a chain too tight with big suspension movements can cause this. To check you will need to remove the sprocket cover, but if you have the 1000 the clutch slave cylinder must come off first.

Before removing the slave pull the clutch lever and tape, velcro or wire it in this position. Then the pluger under the cylinder will not be an issue for re-install or removal.
