Tilting gas tank forward

I took the fastners loose that the owners manual calls for and the tank still will not lift up. Does the fairing assembly have to come loose to lift the tank up? Thanks, Paul

Someone said that you also need to loosen that bolt in front that the tank pivots on. I'm pretty sure that would have done it. But I ended up having the dealer shop change the air filter. They had to remove the tank to do the throttle body sync anyway.

Yep, that was me. First time I did it, I couldn't get it to move until I loosened that bolt. The owners manual neglects to tell you that. If you've got all the other correct fasteners removed, it should come then. If you are removing the tank, that bolt has to come right out. I've had the tank off 3 or 4 times now. It gets quicker and easier every time as you catch on to it.
