Horn option that isn't quite as deadly as Stebel?

That Stebel sounds like it'd be the bomb, but if you have a big tankbag on and accidentally toot it (or just want to toot "hello" to someone) it'd be like swatting a fly with a hand grenade.

What is there that's better than stock but not quite as nuclear as the Stebel?

Fiamm freeway blasters 130db, have them on my KLR. They are OK. The Stebels are 10x louder though, I think they are great. Just don't hit them when passing a bicyclist or something... lol.

Gee, Bob, I have two Stebels and it's just starting to get good. You could always go with one of those little red trumpets with a squeeze bulb. I've been meaning to pick one up actually. Or a bell.

Check out JC Whitney for lots of options.

Go Stebel and never look back! Leave the tooting to scooters.

As I was riding home this afternoon, just to say "hi," I honked at my neighbour who was walking his dog down the road. He fell in the ditch, he was so surprised.
My horn is stock.

Well, if you had a Stebel you'd have to start CPR on him.

Surely you can connect the stebel relay to the std horn and add a .25 sec delay or similar so you can have a pathetic 'meep' followed by "MWARPPPP!" with one push!

Go to your BMW dealer and ask for the horn for an RT-P. The one on my work bike is da bomb.

Good idea - my SVS is on consignment there (only a mile or so from my house), and actually I need new tires on the K1200RS - better get it in before they get busy.

Well, first they said "no", and then I looked at it and it's a pretty big square thing about 6" square. I think I'll go with something more compact.
