LED taillight install

After carefully looking at the tail light housing on my 650, it seemed possible to install two 1 3/4 inch diameter LED bulbs with 32 LEDs each in place of the standard incadescent bulbs. I got two of these LED units from Riderswearhouse. Got the tail light housing out, found that the lens was glued to the reflector. It looked to me that the two were hot glued together. Not willing to experiment with the original unit, I got a new tail light housing from my Suzuki dealer. Heated a pan of water to 160-185 degrees Farenheit. Submerged the housing-glue softened enough to be teased out with needle-nosed pliers and chopsticks; got the reflector separated from the lens. A trial fit showed that the sockets were not quite centered on a vertical axis- the bulbs cleared the roof of the reflector, but contacted and pushed against the floor. Used a dremel tool to slit the floor to accomodate the LED unit; then sealed the slit with E6000 adhesive, then bonded the lens to the reflector with it. This adhesive is the most universally useful bonding agent I know of. Its chief virtue is its elasticity- it can be stretched ten times its length without losing adhesion-it is also removable-great for locking down nuts. I get it here in Oakland CA at TAP Plastics. Get the black type, it stands up to outdoor use better than the clear. The LED units look brighter than stock; current draw, as shown by my voltmeter, minimal.

pics

Haven't taken any pics, have to learn how to post them as well.
Suffice it to say that what you see is two bright circles of light against a dark background-the reflector section of the housing does nada for light projection of LEDs. As an aside, the reflector section of the stock tail light is odd-not a shiny chrome unit, but a matte finish piece.
