Powermadd handguards

I know one rider here has experience with these, but I'm wondering if anyone else does. Specifically, I'm wondering about using the handguards with the reinforcing bar that goes from the bar end to the guard itself.

How tough are these handguards? Do they offer as much protection as an Acerbis-type, aluminum-reinforced handguard? Can the accessory bar be mounted with the Powermadd on the DL650?

Would you recommend another brand over the Powermadd?

I'm sure I'll think of more questions in a bit. Thanks in advance.

Guess I should have been wearing pants...

I just installed the PowerMadd Handguards on my 650. they're not the kind that wrap around the bar ends. I got 'em for wind protection more so than crash protection. I'm sure the Ascerbis type would be better protection for that. I have the Ascerbis aluminum type on my Honda CRF-X dirt bike.

I like the versitility of the PowerMadd guards. I also got the extensions to give greater protection from the weather. 3 levels of protection or ventilation.
