Unhappy Heated Grips, factory ones no worky on 07 650!!

Ok so I have been searching all day now thru the sea of Heated Grip threads and can't find what I need. I've noticed that the subject has been discussed here at length but I think that contributes to the problem, there are hundreds of threads here on grips but trying to find what you need is impossible and so far has taken me hours to find just basic info, and while I have found some good stuff I didn't see any with this issue yet. Here is my story...

I just purchased a new 07 DL650 and to my disappointment when I went to order the Heated Grips from Suzuki in the little brackets it said (will not work on 07 DL650) so as you would imagine I was followed by I'm not sure what's different but Suzuki says it won't work.

Now I'm all for things that come from the factory that just plug right in because they were designed to do so. So my question is 2 fold:

1. Does anyone know why the factory heated grips don't work on the 07 DL650?
2. If they truly don't what is the best (or most) recommended heated grip for the 650 that won't kill the charging system and has an easy installation.

I have read in some of my searchings about a pig tail that plugs into the factory plug for the heated grips, if anyone has that part # off the top of there head that would be great, or if any kits come with it that would help.

Well I am just guessing here but I am thinking the wiring harness is different and possibly some of the power consumed by the factory grip heaters may be allocated to the ABS system?
In any case I wouldn't go and order the harness clip until you find out if there is a place on the 07' ABS model to plug it into.
I like my heated grips but I LOVE my heated liner and kind of wish I had tried heated gloves 1st. The grip heaters are always with the bike though...
There are several manufacturs that sell heated grips. I originally wanted to order the warm and safe grip heaters because in my opinion their roller troller is the best controller out there because it consumes less power and has variable control for maximum comfort. It is far less than the factory option too.

In any case let us know how your quest turns out.

Thanks! Oh I don't have an ABS model and the plug is there as far as I can tell (not sure what it's supposed to look like but there's a plug tucked way up there).

Has anyone installed the factory grip heaters on the 07 650? I'd like to order something soon so any help would be appreciated...

I just finished installing Oxford Heaterz on my '07 non-ABS dl650. I used the much discussed pigtail (aka horn lead), purchased from my dealer for around 10 bucks. It fit the plug perfectly. I can't tell you why Suzuki claims the OEM grips don't fit the '07, but I don't think it's due to the wiring configuration.

Current: '07 Blue 650 V-Strom
Past: '01 Triumph Tiger, '99 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100, '75 Kawasaki Z1 900

I just installed my OEM heated grips (and handguards!) on an 07 dl650. No problems. The throttle tube side is odd becuse the wire comes out of the grips at an angle you wouldn't expect. I was following another thread where a guy said he had to remove the tank and airbox to wire his up, at least until I found the connector was run right up from to just below the horn...

My 07 ABS came with the OEM heated grips already installed by the dealer.

The throttle-side wire definitely comes off at a somewhat dorky angle - off the top and over the kill switch, rather than off the bottom as I would like. Apparently it's made that way, can't rotate it around or anything.
