Question Nubby Tires ?

I am contemplating a trip up the Dempster Highway in the Yukon and want to use Nubby Tires rather than the standard ones. Will appreciate feedback by anyone who has installed them and please advise make etc..

A friend has these on his F650 BMW. Not really that good for extended pavement use, but for the Dempster, It would be the way to go.

There are basically only two knobby tire choices out there for big DS's, the Continental TKC80 and the Metzeler Karoo. The TKC's are by far the most popular for the V-Strom. The Karoo is a more aggresive off-road tire, but reportedly only lasts about 1k miles on the street. TKC's will give you about 4k's on pavement for the rear tire.

It's not an adventure unless you need a tent, a passport, and a leather glove for your shooting hand.
