Anyone installed a handlebar crossbar?

Twisted Throttle sells a bolt on crossbar for stock handlebars said to stiffen the stock bars slightly and provide a mounting point for gps, etc.

Anyone done this? Thoughts?

I have trimmed my stock bars by 1 inch and like the riding position. Many riders install aftermarket bars, but I am thinking about this option.

I bought that crossbar and it's a total waste of money. The clamps are the same rubber-lined clamps you can buy at Home Depot. http://www.springmasters.com/sp/imag...bber-lined.jpg

If you want to mount a GPS or radio, get a RAM motorcycle camera mount. For $10 more you get 100% more bang for your buck.

Get new handlebars, nothing can compare in my opinion! One of the single best mods that I ever did! Proptapers come with a very heavy duty crossbar.

I purchased that same crossbar from Twisted Throttle.

I like it. It works, I certainly haven't had any complaints with it.

My GPS stayed solidly on there during a 9000km ride this fall in all sots of conditions. Concrete Slab, asphalt, dirt roads, and some off road stuff too.

A pic of it with GPS
