Factory Suzuki luggage - good deal?

One of the shops I deal with gave me a call. They had heard about me buying a new 1000 Strom and wanted to know if I wanted luggage for it. They have a set of OEM hard luggage that they special ordered and was never picked up.

Top and side cases with all mounting brackets for $450.00. New, still in the box. Black and silver, which should match my 06 1000 just fine.

Is the Suzuki luggage nice stuff? I have never seen it in person. I was shopping Givi, and this seems like a great deal, though I don't know what MSRP was.

Any help appreciated about this set-up.

Thanks!

I priced a set at my local dealer and 3 cases with mounts was over $1,000. The mounting catches look like Givi and the previous set of Suzuki cases was made by Kappa, a Givi subsidiary.

On a previous post you make reference to a dealer who has a set of slightly used 2 Bros pipes for the DL 1000.

Do you know if they are still available and could you send me a PM with the shops coordinates?

Thanks!

I believe normal cost is close to $1000, so it is great deal. The only downside of the Suzuki luggage is that I've heard and read it is hard to get parts for if something would break.

You could probably pick up a set of Givi cases(topcase, sidecases and mounts) for around $600. They have a 2yr warranty(which Givi stands behind) and parts are usually readily available. Just something to keep in mind.

MSRP from the Suzuki web site for everything is $1,219.80. Looks like a very good deal.

DL650K6 - Silver Blue (Wee-Haa)
KLR250 - Kawa Green (Great bike. Sold)
AE50 - Red (Loads of fun as a kid. Kitted to 80cc. Sold)
Some unknown Honda 50cc (Given to me. Nothing worked. Gave it away. Still nothing worked)

Thumbs up Suzuki Luggage

I orderd mine and paid about $400 more althought they did install at no additional charge. I'ld do it again in heartbeat. I'm quite satisfied with the luggage and IMHO it matches the lines of the bike better than the other brands. Haven't had an opportunity to test it in the rain yet, but the seals seem pretty good.

I have that set on mine and am very pleased. That's a great price. The only complaint I have is that the top case is too far forward for your passenger if you're goingt o ride two up and the mount isn't adjustable. I made my own extension to move the topcase back about 2 inches and it works just fine now.

Well, they are home and in the garage. The silver isn't a perfect match for my bike. But - that's the only issue. Well, except for the directions on how to mount the top box plate. Otherwise, it is very self-explanetory.

Do I pull off the rubber top on the factory rack to mount the new plate? Has anyone taken pictures of this set-up on the bike without the luggage mounted? Just trying to make sure I do it right.

The cases themselves are very nice, and the racks have an excellent, durable looking paint. Is there a light kit available for the cases?

Also took home the centerstand, factory service manual and an extra oil filter. Hopefully, we'll have a nice, mild New England weekend so I can mount everything up!

I was in Kline Motorsports in St. Paul, MN recently and was offered a set of Suzuki 3 pc. hard luggage for the DL1000 with, I believe, the yellow lids. I got the impression that they were ready to knock the price down a good bit.
