'06 OEM heated grips on '07 Wee?

I've searched and googled. Can't find the answer to this question:

What (if anything) will prevent OEM heated grips taken off an '06 Wee from fitting / functioning on an '07 Wee?

I bought a set of used grips, am hearing rumbling that the 06 and 07 models may be significantly different. If so, how so?

If it's physically / functionally impossible to make the 06 grips work on my bike ... anyone interested in a used (but very good condition) set of OEM grip heaters for 06 and earlier Wees?

Thanks,
Craig

The throttle tubes are integral with OEM heated grips. The throttle reel housing was separate in '06 while '07 and later models had integrated the reel into the switch housing. The tubes are a little different. one guy took some material off the circumference on an '06 heated grip to get it to fit on an '07.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

Thanks, GW.

But --- I'm a little (ok, a lot) unsure of what I'd need to do to make the '06 grip work on the '07 bike. I can't see from the diagrams where to "remove material" or how much to remove.

Cheers,
Craig.

I think the removal has to be from the circumference of the circle segment where the throttle cables attach. Compare the '07 throttle tube to the heated one to check.
