DL650 Cut-Out, or Stall
I've had my 05 DL650 for about a month now. It's been running perfectly for the most part except for one strange thing.
The bike had 2900 miles on it when I bought it, and I've now added another 2600 miles.
The first week, I was leaving the house, accellerated, backed off the throttle and it went dead. Pulled in the clutch and started right back up. Figured maybe I overfilled the gas tank the night before?
Hasn't done it again in the last 2500 miles until last evening. I left the house in a hurry to try and catch a movie. There was a fair amount of traffic, so the riding was agressive start and slow downs, etc. After about 20 minutes, I was pulling off the highway and onto a road with a stoplight. I was probably going a little too fast and had to decellerate pretty quick for a redlight. I backed off the throttle fast and the motor just shut off. Again, I pulled the clutch and it started right back up. I tried to duplicate the situation to see if I could make it happen again, and I can't. Seems to be perfect.
What's going on? Is this anything to be concerned about? The bike now only has about 5400 miles on it. Is this likely that TBS adjust needing to be done?
On this tank I AM burning almost half a bottle of Chevron Techron injector cleaner. Could that have anything to do with it?
It doesn't seem like a big deal at all, especially since it's been a pretty rare occurance. But, I'm wondering if it does the same thing in Mexico.. and then WON'T start back up, or begins doing it more frequently... what should I check?
Again, it's only happened twice in 2500 miles, and I can't duplicate it. Just wondering if something's loose? Seems like a TBS issue would be more consistent than that.
